“As soon as I was conscious, I just always knew that I was not what they were saying. It wasn’t right,” Talackova told ABC News’ Barbara Walters in an exclusive interview. “I thought that I was in the wrong body.”

Talackova went from local beauty queen to a headline-grabbing transgender rights activist in the span of just a few weeks after the Ms. Universe Canada pageant informed her that she would be disqualified from the competition because she was not a “naturally born female.”

Representatives for Donald Trump, whose company owns the Ms. Universe pageants, said earlier this week that he would reverse the decision to disqualify Talackova and that she would be allowed to compete in the pageant.

Shortly thereafter, Talackova’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, criticized Trump for having the “natural born female” rule at all.

The Trump organization later released a statement saying that pageant rules had “been modernized to ensure this type of issue does not occur again.”

Talackova, who was born with the name Walter Talackova, had gender reassignment surgery at the age of 19 and also had hormone treatments. She called the surgery “intense” but ultimately “rewarding.”

“It was terribly painful, but seeing something on your body for that long and not being able to look at myself in the mirror because I couldn’t stand seeing the other part, it was actually very rewarding, too,” she said.

Talackova said she’s now committed to helping others.

“I feel like the universe, the creator just put me in this position as an advocate,” she said. “And now it’s like this, and I’ll take that position. If it’s helping anybody else, my story and my actions, then I feel great about it.”

“I look like a transsexual anyway,” Sofia joked to The Advocate in an interview. “I’m a woman, but I’m super-exaggerated with my boobs, my ass, my makeup and my accent”.

“When I get ready for an event, I always look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘I look like a transvestite!’ I love it.”

The male body – said to date back to between 2900-2500BC – was discovered buried in a way normally reserved only for women of the Corded Ware culture in the Copper Age.

The skeleton was found in a Prague suburb in the Czech Republic with its head pointing eastwards and surrounded by domestic jugs, rituals only previously seen in female graves.

“From history and ethnology, we know that people from this period took funeral rites very seriously so it is highly unlikely that this positioning was a mistake,” said lead archaeologist Kamila Remisova Vesinova.

“Far more likely is that he was a man with a different sexual orientation such as transsexual,” she added.
According to Corded Ware culture which began in the late Stone Age and culminated in the Bronze Age, men were traditionally buried lying on their right side with their heads pointing towards the west, and women on their left sides with their heads pointing towards the east. Both sexes would be put into a crouching position.

The men would be buried alongside weapons, hammers and flint knives as well as several portions of food and drink to accompany them to the other side.

Women would be buried with necklaces made from teeth, pets, and copper earrings, as well as jugs and an egg-shaped pot placed near the feet.

“What we see here doesn’t add up to traditional Corded Ware cultural norms. The grave in Terronska Street in Prague 6 is interred on its left side with the head facing the West. An oval, egg-shaped container usually associated with female burials was also found at the feet of the skeleton. None of the objects that usually accompany male burials – such as weapons, stone battle axes and flint knives – were found in the grave.
“We believe this is one of the earliest cases of what could be described as a ‘transsexual’ or ‘third gender grave’ in the Czech Republic,”

archaeologist Katerina Semradova told a press conference on Tuesday.

She said that archeologists had uncovered an earlier case dating from the Mesolithic period where a female warrior was buried as a man.

She added that Siberian shamans, or latter-day witch doctors, were also buried in this way but with richer funeral accessories to appropriate to their elevated position in society.

“But this later discovery was neither of those, leading us to believe the man was probably transgendered or transsexual,” Semeradova said.

The Corded Ware culture takes its name from the frequent use of decorative cord impressions found its pots and covered much of North, Central and Eastern Europe.

It is also known as a single-grave and battleaxe culture due to separate burials and the Mena s habit of being buried with stone axes.

The aspiring singer, whose childhood idols were Boy George, Lily Savage and Dead or Alive lead singer Pete Burns, says her mother had a lot of drag queen friends, so she grew up admiring them and wishing she was as glamorous as they were. The young woman from London was bullied and made fun of as a child, and from age 12 she’s been dreaming about plastic surgery and changing her appearance.

Now she’s living the dream, dressing as a drag queen when she goes out at night and spending her savings on collagen injections and nose jobs to make her look more like her idols.

‘I have a couple of different wigs that I wear when I go out, and people are always assuming I’m a transvestite. I love it when people mistake me for a man. It doesn’t offend me – I think drag queens look fantastic’

When she’s getting ready for a night on the town, Collagen needs at least three hours and the help of a make-up artist friend to put on her huge blonde wig and doll-like make-up.

The drag queen wannabe says she loves looking plastic and can’t wait until she raises enough for more plastic surgery. She intends to have breast augmentation, as well as have some of her ribs removed so she can wear tighter corsets, anything to make her look more like a drag queen.

‘They’re glamorous and beautiful – what woman wouldn’t want to look like that?”

A South Florida technical school recently selected the school’s prom queen. Interestingly, the winner was not the standard genetic girl; but  instead, the title went to a transgendered student by the name of Andii Viveros.

The Davie, Fla school awarded Andrew the title after s.he struggled for weeks to get her name on the ballot. Andii, whom is also the president of the Gay Straight Alliance, has spent the last two years going by the name Andii, reports NBC Miami.

According to NBC, Viveros is the first transgendered person in the US to win the title of prom queen. Viveros made a statement to WTVJ explaining her interest in running for prom queen:

“Why would I run for prom king? I’ll have to wear a tux, which I’m not going to do,” said Viveros. “I’m going to wear an evening gown.”

The schools prom king, Juan Macias, is also a member of the McFatten Gay Straight Alliance.

Several students reportedly petitioned the school to remove Viveros from the ballot.

“They’re like, he can’t run…it has to be a woman,” said Viveros. “It has to be traditional.”

Incidentally, Viveros beat out 14 girls for the coveted school title. When asked about winning the title Viveros explained how he felt the moment the announcement was made:

“I was in shock, I was just smiling.”

Bernadette Viveros, Andrew’s mother, supports her new daughter,  and that “she will love her no matter what.” Andii’s father, Oscar Viveros, also supports his daughter, and he tells NBC:

“It kind of gives them something to strive for—you know, ‘that I can actually be what I want to be.’”

“We’ve always been open for Andii to be what she wants to be,” said the teen’s father.

Andrew is hopeful that this win will pave the way for other people like him.

“It can open a lot of doors for other people who don’t have a lot of encouragement like I had,” Viveros said. “It’s okay to be who you are, to do what you want to do.”

“Years ago I wanted to design a drag show where the wings of the theater were exposed so the audience could see the transformation of drag taking place and then its final product on stage. Boys becoming girls, It is an interesting and chaotic process.“ Says Veronica,  creator of Burning Wig. “The things I over heard or was said to me are still some of the funniest material I have ever heard.”

The characters of Vanity Kills and Veronica Vinyl are the driving force behind the 45 to 60 second vignettes that make up an episode of Burning Wig. “We decided that our characters we play on the show had to be bigger than life and more queen than any queen living or dead..” They are eternal optimists and very very sensitive to the faerie glamour they are performing at the same time 100% oblivious to anything that doesn’t conform to their phantasmagorical world.  On the downside they are vain, narccisstic and possibly superficial… but not in a way that harms others. On the plus side they are brave, passionate and in love with being Drag Queens.

Veronica states, “Animation seemed the perfect medium to present Burning wig.  In animation you can do anything.” For instance Veronica and Vanity have a Barbie styling head toy that sits between them . To them it’s a Holy Object. An ideal to be achieved. A plastic goddess that speaks to them and often finds there conversations as weird as any outside observer would. “You cant do that in a live action sitcom and still have the sitcom on the air after one season. It’s too outrageous – the audience wouldn’t buy it. In Burning wig, Barbie speaking to them is normal. We get to see inside Veronica and Vanity’s heads into the world they inhabit. That’s fun to try and capture in every episode. “

Burning Wig is done on a non existent budget each episode based on water colors done by Veronica in her basement, where she is kept.  Veronica marvels, “How does it get done at all? I mean it isn’t Walt Disney but it wants to be, also it isn’t South Park and that’s a blessing. What we hope is it’s  funny,  fabulous and pretty to look at. “

Most importantly,  the Burning Wig Team hopes to present Drag in a positive light. “It would be very easy in a cartoon to simply lampoon drag and leave it at that. I want to show what is special about it. What makes it such an amazing and beautiful jewel of sissy culture, but in a fun way. Much like Drag has always been done. Drag Queens were the shock troopers in the gay rights battle, but they were always doing it in a such a non-threatening way.  The bohemian ideals Truth, Beauty & Love in sixty seconds of comedy madness.”

Katoeys or “ladyboys” are something the Thai people have long been comfortable with and airline boss Peter Chan, who was himself an air steward for a number of years, believes there is no reason why members of “the third sex” cannot do the job as well as anyone else.

The House of Sissify would like to agree. We think sissies should be serving their Superiors whenever the opportunity arises, including up in the air!

What is really amazing about booking a ticket with PC Air, however, is its slogan: I believe it’s “My Way”.

It’s written large along the side of the plane, including quotation marks, so it’s obviously something they’ve given a lot of thought to.

If not, at least the slogan gives passengers something more to ponder during flights than which is the hostess with the mostess.
